Aartava-kshaya, which has been linked to PCOS, has been described as a lack of or loss of artava, as well as a delayed or sparse appearance of artava and a dose that does not last for three days. There may also be vaginal pain. The Pitta and Kapha doshas, Medas, Ambu/Rasa, Shukra/Artava Dhatu, and Rasa, Rakta, Artava Vaha Srotas are all said to be involved in the disorder known as Aartava-kshaya. As a result, Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome can also be described as involving Dosha, Dhatu, and Upadhatu.
